okay, so i know what swinging is and i know what an orgy is, but for the life of me i can't get the difference in the two fingered out. so will someone please explain the difference in the two to me?

Swinging doesn't have to include an orgy. I'm not sure whether participating in an orgy would make you a swinger or not -- I don't think it would, unless participating in an orgy becomes a lifestyle.

That's really the keydifference -- one is an event, and the other is a life-style.

That's certainly one aspect of the difference, but just how many does it take to change things from group sex to an orgy?

Another aspect is that Swingers usually swap one for one and stay with a temporary partner throughout a party where and "orgy" generally involves as many as you can keep it up for.

Still, the main difference between "swinging" and an orgy is that swingers do it as a lifestyle choice while an orgy is a singular event.

That, and being in an orgy doesn't generally require that you be part of a couple already, although it helps to be able to bring a bit more firepower so to speak.

An orgy was simply, a group of people just sharing themselves with everyone?

thanks all who replied and different guy, several of the swingers that i know have parties that allow for privacy as well and they are more than open to singles that want to attend.

Swinging can be between just two couples, but you wouldn't call that an orgy. The two can be the same thing, swinging can turn into an orgy, but swinging to me usually involves a smaller group of people and an orgy is more of a free for all.
