The much over used line - "Well this one time, at band camp..."

What's a wat?

Sucked on a guys cock, without knowing whether or not he had an STD. No, I'm not talking about with my current boytoy.

Ask me in a few months.,...... the shit is about to hit the fan in the near future I think...........

I was on vacation, called up my job and gave notice packed up my bags, and placed a deposit on a place over 600 miles away without anything lined up. Turned out to be one of the best things I ever did.

The biggest risks, to my mind, aren't life threatening....but they can hurt - big time.

The two biggies for me are risks that I'm still taking. The first was deciding that I wanted to be a professional actor. Knowing the rejection that was and is sure to come, along with the prospects of not having work for long periods of time make this a very risky move for me. Also, it gets very touchy with having to make a living...and needing time off from a "bread and butter" job to work as an actor for a few days here and there.....it risks losing the "bread and butter" job every time. And unsteady work these days can be a killer....

The second risk - is the risk that one takes when they decide that they want to have love in their life. It's a risk to open yourself up to someone so completely...and to risk getting hurt so deeply. But the benefits (for me) far exceed the risks....

The big risks...

Quitting my job

Loaning my car to a friend...

Getting my own apartment...

Going down on a woman with a rather shady sexual history...

I trusted my ex with my heart, for the very first time.

I won't be doing anything liek that again soon....

Going Pro Se into family court to fight for visitation rights with my son.

I didn't want to go into debt, figured a bankrupt dad would be worse. I write well and read well enough to have pulled it off. Which I did. This was like 5 1/2 - 6 years ago now.

And, to make things worse, I did something REALLY stupid. I met this guy on a phoneline, and, he came over to my apartment. SO! I was alone, with a complete stranger...blowing hin, and, without even knowing him from a hill of beans.

Been under enemy fire, hung out one hundred feet on a rope from a helicopter, and struck an unexploded 105mm shell while digging a foxhole. It was dark and I thought it was a rock, I slept next to it all night! But, I was trained for all those things so I don't consider it a risk. A risk that sticks in my mind is at a local waterfall in Oregon when I was a teenager. All of us were hanging out, drinking beers, when I felt I wanted to get a photo of the waterfall from an unusual location. I hopped over the security fence at the top of the falls, and with tennis shoes, climbed over wet rock to get a shot of looking straight down the falls! The width of the mini rock ledges was about four inches. Anyway I would have fallen would have been seventy-five feet to the big dirt nap. I recently went back there to visit, and went to the falls. I looked at where I took the picture and my knees got weak! The face I had been on was gone! Sheered away! It's only been a few years, geology wise. That was a stupid risk I'm glad I lived to remember. AAAHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhh........! :D

Sounds like the book i just read - "We Were Soldiers Once... and Young"

Quitting a stable job to work for myself.

Or telling my family to fuck off.

Both situations ended happily.

I downloaded a file without doing a virus scan first...*shrugs*...I'm not a big risk taker....

Having unprotected sex with a girl I knew only by what she had told me via email and in chatrooms taking a chance that I could come away with a terminal disease, or even worse bring a child into the world under those less than ideal circumstances.

Extending your heart when all is uncertain is pretty damn risky. But, the possible rewards make the risk well worth it.

Well spoken.

I've traded commodities on the futures market. You potentially risk every cent you own when you short the market.

I 've had pistols pointed at me on a couple of occaisions.

But the heart is the scariest risk and greatest losses, as far as I'm concerned.
