What Is the Best Scott Weiland Song?

STP - Sour Girl

It must be good....I couldn't get it out of my head for a week straight a while ago....and now it is back again!!

I was a fan of his album 12 bar blues...."Lady, Your Roof Brings me Down" was wonderful but the album was full of gems and produced really wonderfully. Not of the time at all.

STP songs .....hmm. There be some mighty nostalgia there. An offbeat song, "Adhesive". "Down" is great to drive way too fast to...."Atlanta" I love to play on my back porch. I don't think there is a clunker on Purple. And as I sit here listening to it I feel a real sadness.

And goddammit, the new Wildabouts is really great. Why oh why'd you have to ride that horse...

Big Bang Baby is one of my favorite tunes.. STP never got the respect they deserved. As far as I can tell, they straddled LA glam ala Janes Addiction and Seattle earnest prole rock ala Pearl Jam just enough to avoid acceptance in either camp. I'd rather listen to their stuff than most other big radio rock acts of that era. Weiland's rediculosly gruff "white blues" growl on their big early hits always seems mocking and ironic to me, a sendup of Eddie Vedders po-faced stylings and gormless over-emoting.
