Hello All,
No science or war tonight. What is your favorite driving song...the one that when you hear it on the radio you just jam down the gas and expect to be pulled over. I just got down the shore and the travelling willburys got me through it. (Spelling?) Yours?

Copperhead road.

Copperhead Road
(Steve Earle)
Well my name's John Lee Pettimore
Same as my daddy and his daddy before
You hardly ever saw Grandaddy down here
He only came to town about twice a year
He'd buy a hundred pounds of yeast and some copper line
Everybody knew that he made moonshine
Now the revenue man wanted Grandaddy bad
He headed up the holler with everything he had
It's before my time but I've been told
He never came back from Copperhead Road
Now Daddy ran the whiskey in a big block Dodge
Bought it at an auction at the Mason's Lodge
Johnson County Sheriff painted on the side
Just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside
Well him and my uncle tore that engine down
I still remember that rumblin' sound
Well the sheriff came around in the middle of the night
Heard mama cryin', knew something wasn't right
He was headed down to Knoxville with the weekly load
You could smell the whiskey burnin' down Copperhead Road

I volunteered for the Army on my birthday
They draft the white trash first,'round here anyway
I done two tours of duty in Vietnam
And I came home with a brand new plan
I take the seed from Colombia and Mexico
I plant it up the holler down Copperhead Road
Well the D.E.A.'s got a chopper in the air
I wake up screaming like I'm back over there
I learned a thing or two from ol' Charlie don't you know
You better stay away from Copperhead Road

Copperhead Road
Copperhead Road
Copperhead Road

I Can't Drive 55
Sammy Hagar
One foot on the brake and one on the gas, hey!
Well, there's too much traffic, I can't pass, no!
So I tried my best illegal move
Well, baby, black and white come and touched my groove again!
Gonna write me up a 125
Post my face wanted dead or alive
Take my license, all that jive
I can't drive 55! Oh No!
Uh!

So I signed my name on number 24, hey!
Yeah the judge said, "Boy, just one more
We're gonna throw your ass in the city joint"
Looked me in the eye, said, "You get my point?"
I said Yea!, Oh yea!
Write me up a 125
Post my face wanted dead or alive
Take my license, all that jive
I can't drive 55!

Oh, yea!

I can't drive 55!
I can't drive 55!
I can't drive 55!
I can't drive 55!
Uh!

(Solo)

When I drive that slow, you know it's hard to steer.
And I can't get get my care out of second gear.
What used to take two hours now takes all day. Huh!
It took me 16 hours to get to L.A.
Gonna write me up a 125
Post my face wanted dead or alive
Take my license, all that jive
I can't drive 55!

No, no no,
I can't drive...
(I can't drive 55!)
I can't drive...
(I can't drive 55!)
I can't drive 55!

I did get pulled over once to Bad Company and when I told the officer that I just got carried away with the song and this sense of power & energy, he was very kind to let me off with a warning.

"Born To Be Wild"

'Git your motor runnin... Head out on the highway...'

Wow someone else who knows of the Travelling Wilburys, I am surprised. Great driving music, which songs of theirs in particular do you like?

What really turns my foot to lead is anything from pre-Load Metallica.

Don't Fear The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult

I agree. But only at night on an empty road in the middle of nowhere.

For in-city driving I'd have to vote (with embarrassment at admitting it publicly) "Wild Boys" by Duran Duran.

favorite driving song

Duran Druan good. Blue Oyster Cult good. However, I prefer Boston's PARTY or DON'T LOOK BACK. or This is Boston Album.
They can jam!

On second thought, change my vote to "Dragula" by Rob Zombie..

An "oldie"

Right Back Where We Started From
Maxime Nightingale

Ooh, and...
It's alright an it's coming on,
We gotta get right back to where we started from,
Love is good, love can be strong,
We gotta get right back to where we started from.

Do you remember the day -(that sunny day)- when you first came my way,
I said no-one could take your place.
And if you get hurt -(if you get hurt)- by the little things I say,
I can put that smile back on your face. Ooh, and -

It's alright and it's coming on, ....

A love like ours -(a love like ours) - can never fade away,
You know it's only just begun.
You give me your love -(give me your love)- , I just can't stay away, no,
I know you are the only one. Ooh, and -

It's alright and it's coming on, ....

You give me your love -(give me your love)-,
You know I just can't stay away, no,
I know you are my only one. Ooh, you know -

It's alright and it's coming on, ....
It's alright and it's coming on, ....
It's alright and it's coming on, ....

This was also used in the movie "Slapshot" too. :rose:

I have too many.

this is why I am currently holding a suspended license

Course it did take em near 6 months to catch me in the act but hey, sometimes flying is fun.

Rob Zombie~

Never gonna Stop

When I'm in my kick ass mood. Windows rolled down, hair pulled back, sunglasses on, little tank top kickin', pedal to the floor.

I fucking rock!

Rob Zombie "I feel so Numb"

Metallica "I Disappear"
