I don't like newbie, nilla really doesn't apply well. There are adjectives like inexperienced. Novice is used.

subbie might work for a bottom. But I've seen submissives take
offense to that term.

First Edition?

I've used that term a few times. Just haven't seen it used by a sub yet.

I first saw it used by a famous writer who was describing how he preferred virgins, but I can't remember who.

Lord Byron perhaps.

I have used the word "virgin" to refer to someone who's interest seems sincere and deep seeded.

For example, I used to refer to myself as a bi virgin when I knew I wanted to explore this part of my persona, but hadn't. This was to denote me on line from the bi curious, which could indicate someone who is interested but unsure.

Just my fleeting thoughts..............

What was harder? Losing your virginity or losing your bdsm virginity? I think I came too fast both times :p

what about unsullied, pristine or in keeping with asses... lily-white? :)

i liked lily-white

others came to mind:
  • unsullied
  • fresh
  • initiate
  • First Press (as in olive oil)

Think i'll go with uncut.

Google produced this.

My BDSM virginity, hands down.

But then, I didn't cum with either of the great initial takings of MissTaken!

How about "freshman", "neophyte", or "colt?"

Heh... If we used Neophyte, DJ Neophyte's name loses his hardcoreness in his name. =/

Not sure now ...

but i bet this is the expression on said virgin's face right before deflowering ...

God I almost peed my pants when I saw that. LOL

I lean toward "trainee," or perhaps "seeker." However, seeker can apply to many - perhaps most - of us. Even after more than 30 years in our culture, I still seek more knowledge of its denizens, practices and mores.

On a related but separate note [semi-hijack], I try not to use "lifestyle" to describe WIITWD, because it tends to imply that we choose to be who and what we are. I think it is more appropriate to use "culture," as that is how one would normally describe "the customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group" (Thanks, Merriam-Webster Online) and I believe we fit into that definition better. [/semi-hijack]

Hmmm... along that line (culture) - maybe "immigrant" could be appropriate? :p

At what point does de-flowering take place???

Is it the first bondage, caning, whipping, alternative use of houshold implements to insert or clamp......or is it a full fisting???

What if you have only tried some not all of these does that make you a sort of half-way house leaning in either direction or maybe half a flower???

Is it different for male and female subs??

Oh God someone tell me to STFU I am sooooo confused :(

i'd suggest equating the loss to the first time your cunt flooded or cock dribbled at any act in that vein, you looked at your partner with wide eyes, and received the same look.

If you both smiled thereafter, congrats.

If not, that's a whole different thread ... actually let me check if RJ did his exercise today. i'm sure he can look up how many "What if your S/O is vanilla" threads exist.

I think curious works. It is used, as MissT says, in the bi area, so why not be BDSM curious? Spanking curious? Bondage curious? Pain curious? and my favorite... anal sex curious?

After all, weren't we all curious before we started down this rocky road we are on?
