What is it with Glamour Shots?

Why is it, that whenever I ask a woman I've met on the 'net to send me a photo, I get a glamour shot. Those damn things can be deceiving. Now, I'm not all about looks, but when I get a photo like that sent to me, I can't help but wonder what the woman is hiding.

That's definitely more realistic, and interesting than a photo that obviously isn't what a person looks like in everyday circumstances.

I never said I was looking to meet anyone in real life. I was just curious as to why women insist on sending glamour shots, when it's not the way they normally look. I get these photos from women who I never intend to meet, or say that I will meet, just as I get them from women I do plan to meet, and do meet.

It just seems that either side is setting themselves up for disappointment by sending photos that don't depict the "real deal."

Personally, I'd never do a "Glamor Shot". I wear very little make up, as a rule. I'm no beauty queen and I don't try to pretend to be one.

I can relate. Many guys send me pics from years ago, and its very decepitive, but it isn't always by ill intent, sometimes its all they have.
And yes, I have met some that look nothing like they presented themselves online...and some that look even better.
However, its a very good thing I dont place such empahsis on looks....its nice, but often I correspond with people and have no idea what they look like...the attraction for me is so much more. I prefer to feel them through their words, not just through the way their pics make me feel...though that can be a very good thing too.

Surely I have PMS??? Not a bit of what I wtrote makes sense.

To be honest here...I believe that a woman will send a picture of herself that makes her feel good. Why would a woman send a first picture to a perfect stranger showing herself at her worst?

Not everyone has a nefarious plot to deceive others by putting their best face forward. However, one who does put forward just such an image should also make sure to advise that they might not actually look that way in the new light of the morning's dawn!!I prefer to put my everyday face forward and let the rest sort itself out in the fullness of time!!! Honesty is the best policy!!! And damn safe too!!!
