We've all written those before.

I find it easiest to edit anything after leaving it sit for a week or so and going back to it. I found a story once that I thought was just brilliant at the time, but after editing it I was like "What the hell was I even talking about?"

Someone murdering your words, and you being exceptionally happy about it. It's sadistic really.
