Sixty years ago bullies kicked your ass.

Todays bully calls you names or doesn't invite you to her birthday party or talks about you or doesn't like your race or anything, really.

6000 years ago they hit you over the head with an elk femur and stole your cave.

If you want to bully today, pick on smokers, the obese, and litter bugs.
Peer pressure at its finest!

But don't insult pedos, they deserve rehab.

Bullies here still beat you up. But getting bully is only for punks and bitches.

I imagine that bullying is really the act of going out of your way to make someone feel small, alone, insignificant or helpless, while getting a thrill out of the power that gives you.

Bullying is very intentional ... tell someone they need to lose weight isn't bullying. Telling someone I don't like you, so you don't get to come to my party, isn't real bullying. That's just life. If you wait for a reaction of hurt, then that crosses the line to bullying.

Bottom line though, if you find yourself being bullied, you better find your courage, otherwise life is going to be very hard for you.

This response pretty much describes how I feel about it. Bullying is taking the time out of your busy day specifically to damage someone else. That can encompass a lot of different methods through a lot of different means. You could degrade someone into the ground about their weight and not stop until you were absolutely sure they were broken. That's different than just telling someone in passing to "lose weight". At least in my opinion.

I don't think that the solution to bullying is always to "tell and adult", as they'd tell children to do. That shit gets real old when you grow up, and guess what, they still come after you. I've always felt that bullies should be dealt with head on. Easier said than done, I know. Everyone's circumstances vary, but where there's a will, there's a way. Bullies don't respect authority, that's why they do what they do. They need to be shown that they can't break down someone's spirit no matter how hard they try.
