I have an idea for a story I want to try writing. It would most likely end up as a short story, since my attention span is about as long as a hair is thick.

Are short stories still acceptable?. Or will I be ostracized and beaten in the town square?.

The minimum is 750 words. I'd be happy to help you achieve your dream of posting (also an editor).

750 words?. I'm sure I can fill that. Might end up being longer, if my mind starts wondering that is.

Thanks for the editing offer too.

The majority of stories here are one "Lit-page" or less. Since a "Lit-page" averages about 3727 words, which most print publishers would put into the "Short-Short Story" classifiction, I'd say you're more than welcome to expand your idea into the 7,000 -10,000 Short story range. :p

Seriously, though Literotica is built on short stories and you're far more likely to be pelted with digitized rotten fruit for being too long than you are for being too short.
