When someone refers to their "brother" or "sister" in BDSM-speak, what exactly does that mean?

It depends. I share a dominant with another female submissive. I do not refer to her as my "sister". But some in the same situation would. There are female submissives who refer to all other female submissives as their sisters (which I find incredibly annoying). There are those who share a house and a dominant with a few other female submissives who all live together and may refer to one other sub as a sister but not the others.

There are probably a few other ways to define "sister" in a BDSM context but that's a few.

Can mean a lot of things, a "sissy" in some BDSM communities means a guy who enjoys humiliation being dressed as a "traditional woman". For others (like in the little community), it's just a term that basically means "a friend who has similar interests with what I do), like a two little friends. It can also mean a fellow submissive when dealing with poly-based relationships.
