I have always hoped I could learn at least one new thing a day, no matter how insignificant or unusual. So thought I would start a thread where we can all post our learning so all can benefit and share, and we have a safeguard for if our day has been so dull we learned nothing elsewhere. :D My first one was taught to me by Masterful One on the weekend....lol, today has also had a few new things, but will save them for now.

* When carrying or transporting fresh flowers (bunches or bouquets, not cut in buckets of water), place them upside down so the water will not drain from the stems/flowers and they will remain fresh for when they get to a vase of refreshing water. ;)

It is only 740 righ now in the morning and I have already had it relearned to me after my vacation...TRUST NOONE AT WORK.

What I learned today

How I choose to respond to people is a lot more powerful than how they expect me to respond.

Like love we don't know where or why
Like love we can't compel or fly
Like love we often weep
Like love we seldom keep.

W.H. Auden

LOL, the fun lesson today (or perhaps reminder).....

* How great it feels to be able to swap notes with your daughter on the phone (16000 kms apart :( ) about BDSM, D/s, and S&M and hear her excitement at all she experienced at the 3 day Midori workshop she attended. :D ...and the more practical lesson....

* Spray your windscreen with a solution of 2 parts vinegar and 1 part water to prevent ice forming on the surface.

While working with the kids this morning, I learned two things...

1) Styrofoam melts when spray painted
and
2) Kids get so excited over anything distructive.

sometimes, someone doesn't post a new reply in the GB for an entire minute. that one was quite shocking.

After a month without refined sugar, a half a pear tastes better than ganache.

If sex tore the past 10 times, chances are it's gonna tear this time. Arrrrrrrrg.

Even after not being able to work out regularly like I used to, I can still speedwalk (no jogging for me thank you--shin splints) and not feel out of breath or like I'm ready to pass out!

After 90 minutes of Munchkin Amazon soccer practice, I learned that I really need to send flowers to the brave woman who coached my team when I was 9. Soon as I wake up.

But my girls are GOOD!

LOL, well one thing I learned was when in Bulgaria, a 'yes' nod means no, and a 'no' nod means yes.....no-one can explain why, but it gets very confusing at times!! :D

The quick minute button is a bad idea for melting 4 ouncest of cheese.

I learned that sometimes being thrown straight into the deep end isn't such a bad thing...at least not as long as there's someone holding a lifeline for you if you start to sink lol.

No I wasn't literally thrown into the deep end of a pool lol.

Today I tried to learn how do to dance Salsa, but what I really learned was that I can not dance at all

I learnt that working in emergency departments isnt all that bad.
I used to be so irritated by the chaos. Now I enjoy it even.
It reminds me that although I think my life is totally crazy, and I have feelings of abandonment sometimes, I know I have more inner strength than at least 50% of the population.
And I had a patient with one of those little bondage bears as a keychain...I wanted to ask and nearly bit my tongue off a dozen times. Neither the time or place. ;)

I learned that being able to sense vibes from people can be a detriment in an interview when one of themm doesn't like you.
Usually I can groove off the positive reactions to questions.

I learned that you can forget the words to Margaritaville if you don't listen to it for over a year.

Or part of one verse anyway.

I learned that long distance shopping by phone with your Dom is both hilarious and frustrating. *The man really, really loves black and red!* :)

Today I learned that the wrong words from someone you love can actually make it painful to breathe.

I always thought that was an exaggeration.
