Why We Dance

To dance is to pray,

The dances are done for all kinds of reasons...

preparing for a hunt, as a way to give thanks, just as celebration...you name it. The fancy dances are a fairly recent thing, you have to look at the traditional dances (the regalia isn't as colorful) for an idea of the way it really used to be.

I can imagine the disadvantages of dressing in bright turquoise feathers when you're going out hunting, yes... UnNless ofcourse you want the prey to stop and stare with its mouth open while you prepare your weapon.

Well.....we didn't dress like that to hunt, just to dance before the hunt.

no, I didn't. Shorts and a tank top for me (it was HOT).
