A lot of RW stupidity seems to be rooted in sheer stubbornness. It is unbelievable that at this date anyone could really believe the 2020 election was somehow stolen -- but many, including some of Trump's Cabinet picks, seem to have the idea that admitting it wasn't would be letting down the side.

I suspect that most of the flaming idiocy enumerated in this thread is a matter of stubbornness rather than sincerely held belief.
