People whom have died and then were resuscitated by medical personnel claim to have "left their bodies" and accurately observed things around them (like surgical procedures) while they were "dead". Some of them claim communication with deceased friends family members along with seeing spirits strange lights and supernatural imagery.

One of these people is a woman named "Pam Reynolds". You can learn about her case in this link.

Scientifically anomalous occurrences such as ghosts and other paranormal phenomena points towards the notion and existence of disembodied intelligence/consciousness in some form of strange, non-physical quantum energies. The theories of quantum dualism add some scientific plausibility to this.

Some theories in thermodynamics state that bioelectric energy continues to exist after physical death because the 2nd law of thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created nor can it be destroyed. Also read about anomalous bioelectric manifestations and physio-spectral fragmentation.

So there are some very fringe and unproven scientific theories which add credibility to there being continued existence after physical death in the form of strange energies in states of quantum entanglement/superpositioning/dualities.

Science has yet to explain extremely well-documented paranormal phenomena such as ghosts and poltergeists, which are popularly theorized by science to be disembodied intelligences and conscious entities and some mind-blowingly strange and undiscovered form of life which would drive most physicists insane if they actually tried to find out what they are.

I, however, believe that it is utterly impossible for our psyche and consciousness to survive physical death. ALL cognitive functions including consciousness are governed by chemical and electrical reactions in the central nervous system (the brain). After brain death, you simply cease to exist, for eternity!
