That makes more sense because the Coach I saw on the threads was a far right rocker. So why did he quit posting on Lit, or did he just change alts?

His wasn't the personality type to bother using alts. Too straightedge.
See, when you do alts, especially careerist alt-mongers, you have to have a vested sociopathic bent powering the interest in creating them and maintaining them. That largely means having no actual life to speak of. If you have no life, you can happily get by on eating bowls of cereal with milk while spending the bulk of the day and/or night fucking around on the internet at your desk with periodic toilet breaks until beddy-bye calls.
Some of the far right rockers who come here have shit to take care of in reality, like families and businesses and whatnot...so even if they might be assholes or a bit bombastic or whatever in character and trying to use this joint as an outlet of inner steam release, they can't afford to fuck around with making alts for shit's sake and then cultivating them on the daily in order to keep an online social standing and dynamic going on. That takes a Cade-level dedication. One identity is enough until it burns out. That Coach dude was a 40-to-50-something daddy type dude. Not a real social pariah or homebodied outcast. Just another guy trying to find something to do in his downtime. Either got bored or reached his limit here. I always thought it was funny that he popped up just after Powertone left and had that same vibe.

I've wondered how people can handle more than one profile. One profile is hard enough to maintain. I don't know who Powertone is. I was curious about Coach because he was one of the first Litsters who pm'd me when I was new to Lit because of the stupid, naive profile I had at the time.
Anyway, we only exchanged 1 or two pm's, and responded to each other's comments on the GB a few times. But for months after that when I would read the list of threads from the Discussion Board, his name was either mentioned as a commenter or a thread creator. The last threads I saw in reference to him were about how pm's weren't secure, which at the time I thought was really strange, but now I can kind of understand where he was coming from. Then one day it was like he had disappeared. I thought it was strange and wondered if he had died or something...
The only alt (I'm assuming it's an alt) that really annoys the hell out of me right now is Jen's. No offense Jen (or whoever you are). One minute she comes across as a Stepford Wife, the next Rush Limbaugh. Like Jeckel/Hyde. Complete opposites.

With the entire "market" a synthetic algo-traded derivative (and facilitated by the fat pipe between Liberty 33 and Citadel) reflecting merely where the ES and VIX trades, and completely ignoring such trivial things as underlying corporate cash flows (see next post on market performance vs earnings) or GDP, concerns about fundamentals have become a total joke. This is obviously exacerbated by such "extenuating" circumstances as tropical storms which are designed to make any negative data irrelevant. Of course, for those still curious about such old school metrics as actual economic performance, untainted by Fed intervention (such as $85 billion in offsetting flow per month), here is one chart, showing the correlation between total FedEx package shipments and Real GDP. And no, sorry, you can't blame this one on Sandy, on the Cliff, or any of the other spin talking points. From Bloomberg: "The level of FedEx package shipments began to slump as early as the first quarter of 2012 and now appears to be signaling weaker economic conditions for 2013. In late March, FedEx made mention of cooling conditions, with CFO Alan Graf noting the economy was not as strong as the company hoped it would be a year earlier. According to Fred Smith, FedEx CEO, “Fundamentally, what’s happening is that exports around the world have contracted and the policy choices in Europe and the United States and China are having an effect on global trade."
