As opposed to being responsible with our clean air and water.

There is money to be made! Fuck the water!

I am just a simple American that likes to drink clean water. You and your big biz cocksuckers could care less about simple Americans like myself.

There we go, the mentality of the Democrat voter on full display, black and white, either-or, us against them...

... no wonder we get into so many wars.

How many times do we need to reinvent this wheel? Big Biz comes in with a grand plan. It is going to do big things. Cash is going to be coming out of everybody's ass.

Then, when the plan goes south, or the well is dry, or India will do it for less, Big Biz hits the bricks leaving the poison and destruction for the residents (and TAXPAYERS) to clean up.

Fuck that.

It is popular today to blame capitalism for everything that displeases. Indeed, who is still aware of what he would have to forego if there were no "capitalism?" When great dreams do not come true, capitalism is charged immediately. This may be a proper procedure for party politics, but in Scientific discussion, it should be avoided.

Saint has a nostalgic yearning for the day when he wiped his ass on river rock.

How's that! gonna keep the water clean; where I live, Capitalism and Industry worked together to build a purification plant.

We pay a fee to have that luxury.

If you want, you're free to go drink from the Mississippi...

The "muddy" Mississippi? I'll pass.:D

Why doesn't he get fired up about government intervention in the business world. like the Ethanol fiasco, and it's cost to the poor, waste of millions of acres of farm land, etc.?

Ethanol is good, clean, Red Green government intervention. Look, the results don't matter, the only thing that matters is, they care, they have good intentions, they want clean water and air, obviously you do not so you criticize every little thing government does wrong, hell, I'll bet you don't even want government roads because you hate Socialism...

Get fucking real!

The Saint spends hours each week working on scary science to make our world a nicer (and sometimes safer) place.

You can thank me.

I'll wait.

Doesn't matter, like I keep telling Perg and kbate, your love of clean water and proclivity to use government means that while you don't ascribe to every looney idea, you are down with the looney struggle...

... otherwise, you're all alone like those few of us who don't want government saving us, just maintaining basic laws, a justice-is-blind court system and the world's preeminent military.

A_J, the Stupid

A regulation is somewhat similar to rounding up the unemployed to prevent theft.
It punishes the innocent for the few and adds cost to all endeavors directly and indirectly and protects us from nothing...
You simply cannot regulate an accident and a criminal has little regard for the law, the only thing you can do is make the consequence so severe that it deters or punishes.
A regulation is like a stop sign, a political tool to make the mouth-breathers think you are working for them and a fine way to get industry to bribe you with campaign donations so you can tell the mouth-breathers all the wonderful things you did so that they will vote for you.

You're a fucking welder, not a rocket scientist.

I know the difference, my Uncle is a rocket Scientist...
