Housing cant recover. Here's why.

Too many people bought overpriced homes they couldnt afford to pay for, others speculated and lost their asses when prices fell, and others are stuck with underwater mortgages. So a large chunk of America lost its credit, and THAT problem aint going away anytime soon.

I estimate it will be a generation (25 years) before things stabilize.

FREE GOVERNMENT CHEDDAH!!!

for realz, while it lasts. Merc's gonna make $100,000 today to add to the $500K he made in his shorts last week!

:)

Have I not said since the beginning of this thread, nothing but net vertical movement...

Throw out the Democrats and elect a real conservative President and with restored confidence that the adults are back in charge, the turn-around will begin as quickly as the markets fell when they realized in a blind panic that their avowed enemy was about to win election and usher in the transformative change of Socialist Economic Theory.

Wont work. The horse is outta the barn. A significant portion of people lost their credit. So we gotta wait for their kids to grow up. The shits like that radioactive Jap power plant.

They'll get it back as soon as employers decide it is safe to be productive again.

That uncertainty is what is actually holding us back.

Obamacare is a large part of it.

Not just Obamanomics.

Probably why the futures are showing the DOW opening 251 to the upside. Another bailout coming down the pipe, and an eventual downer when it fails.

When the market acts bipolar, manic one day-suicidal the next, I get suspicious for governments paw on the scale.

Mark my word! We're gonna awake one mornin and discover Owebama done bought up America.

Gotta have qualified buyers.

I dont believe there is any uncertainty when you do the math homework. The Boomers are devouring America to the tune of 10,000 new retirees every day, and the piper will be paid! Its gonna take a generation to digest them.

No, it's just going to take telling some people, no, you are not entitled; the state you loot is your own freaking pocket and we apologize because we were in charge of teaching you that economic pipe dream and the fallacy of free speech without censure...

China is collapsing, Europe is on fire, nothing else is really emerging, it's time to shake off the dewey Romanticism of the hippie-dippie 70s Generation and get back to the basics that made us great. A leader that articulates and carries out that message will become as beloved as Reagan and the leader of a new reemergence of the American Dream.

I dont dispute your sentiments I simply think the best we can do is piss on the fire for the next 25 years.

In 1859 one of my ancestors predicted a time when the 'insane philanthropists' would drag America down so far honest thieves couldnt make a living, and I suspect that time is now or soon.

Have any of the wingnuts on here announced that the recession has officially ended?

perhaps these wingnuts are still losing money? Is that why they're upset?

if so, by their own judging methods, it's their own personal fault, and they should just work harder instead of blaming others for their misfortune.

How's this for a financial tidbit:

$7.77 Trillion

The amount of money the central bank parceled out was surprising even to Gary H. Stern, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis from 1985 to 2009, who says he “wasn’t aware of the magnitude.” It dwarfed the Treasury Department’s better-known $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP. Add up guarantees and lending limits, and the Fed had committed $7.77 trillion as of March 2009 to rescuing the financial system, more than half the value of everything produced in the U.S. that year.

Whole article here:

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-...congress-gave-banks-13-billion-in-income.html

I just read it and am digesting the facts.
