What happened to all of the doom and gloom economic threads?

Clown, I was commenting on inflation and the value of the dollar in general. The dollar has lost about 5% of it's value since The Big Dummy took office, but don't forget it's a lagging indicator on prices.

I just don't consider 5% to be runaway or anything we should be screaming to the high heavens about. What's the average loss for say four years anyway?

As for it losing it's value oh well. As long as it happens gradually that's technically better than it gaining value. I mean while ultimately it's all just numbers and values we've assigned I'd really hate it if tomorrow my pay was cut by 50% even if everything went down in price by 60%.

Obama was president in 1965? Man. I really gotta stop drinking cus I swear there were. . .several presidents just since I was born in 1983. Now I can't vouch that the world even existed before that point, it's entirely possible that the world truly does revolve around me and anything that claims to have existed prior to the nineteen eighties is just an elaborate lie put into place by myself to make this world seem interesting (hey that theory is no more crazy than what Christians believe) but I need that alternate history book your studying from Vette.

The Vettebigot just wants to punch hippies.

The dollar has lost five percent of its value? Relative to what?

Are you talking about inflation rates?

Bloomburg news was just saying the other day that the debt ceiling crisis (100% manufactured by Republicans) had more negative impact on the dollar's value than any other influence.

Nobody gives a shit about cereal though.

Good. Now our companies can sell things overseas more easily. And Americans have more financial incentive to buy American.

Who gives a fuck what Bloomburg said. Most go with Bloomberg, MORON.

Nobody except people who eat it for breakfast. People give less of a shit about your Obama propaganda. The ONLY thing that affects the value of the dollar is creating dollars out of thin air without work.

Yet Bernanke, who has been printing money, has overseen the lowest inflation rate of any fed chairman in 40 years. Why is that?

And what is "creating dollars out of thin air WITH work"?

AJ already posted this.

speaking of jobs, sure obama is out of a job in a couple months, but that piece of shit will make million on the book/speaking rounds. so will the obama do anything to help American's?

the jobs bill is DOA, or are you still holding on to that fantasy?

You really don't know do you? I pity you I really do. It's called producing something for sale, creating value, wealth creation, as opposed to debauching the currency which diminishes wealth.

What? No you just said:

This is just ignorant crap you made up. The value of the dollar is impacted by a large range of things. The fact that you insist what you just did exposes your ignorance of basic economics.

Creating value is not the same thing as creating dollars out of thin air (printing money). You just misrepresented what I said in order to cover your ass.

that's awesome. does bloomburg also tell you how to do your job? oh wait, you don't really have to do that much as you work for the government

Get an inflation calculator Marion (available on the net), and go and sin no more.

Okay, just wanted to make sure what you were babbling about.

So you're holding President Obama responsible for any and all inflation now?

How does his performance compare to those of the past 10 years?

BLS statistics:

Looks like you're cooking the books.

p.s. Extra Credit: what level of inflation is acceptable? Hmmmm?

Actually...

...smart money says the dollar has lost 12% in just the last year.
