It's an Advanced Study Program. You choose one subject to study, and over 5 weeks (living on campus-classes 6 days per week mornings and recreation in the afternoon) you study what amounts to a year long college level course. It's quite intense and requires a commitment to work, as evenings will be filled with additional studying like homework, reading, or discussion groups.




Yank....I think you might be familiar with the school I'm refering to, as one of your former graduate school roommates or friends had attended there.

Thanks for the added info. Sometime I'll have to share a story about my own experiences there, gained while I was teaching nearby (a little south and east, along Rte 4).

my daughter, the girl that thinks everyone is smarter than her, was recently nominated to apply for an ASP next summer at a well known private school. The opportunity to apply is by invitation only; the application is more intense than any college one I have seen.

She's trying to decide if she wants to apply; I hope she does, even if she gets declined, it would still be a learning process for her.

A graduate coming to my class just to say hello and tell me how he is doing. It is so very rewarding to know that I helped him with his decision to go to college and the industry which he chose to start working in. He is doing quite well for himself and that is so very soul feeding!!!

Seeing my little sister become the only freshmen to get accepted into an organization at school that is extremely competitive. She worked so hard for it, and she's following in my footsteps which makes me feel good.
