Thanks for positive feedback on my postive feedback Cutie. 77 approved threads and I've got about 15 or 16 comments on my work and only one has been negative. I've got the past the point where I'm unsure about giving people negative feeback on their work. I recently posted some constructive criticism on one of the newly approved stories.

well I guess I have been more lucky with feedback than you other Chyoo'ers. As, I have exactly 37 comments in the feedback section.

First, I want to say something to lilguy. I actually recognize some of those comments you posted. LoL. Yeah yeah, call me a fucker... I know you are thinking it!

Ok, now it's my turn to post a couple comments. Pretty much all of mine are possitive, with the exception of one or two negative ones.

Alright, I only have one negative comment. I guess I am doing pretty good for myself. Most of the 37 comments come with a 4 or a 5 rating. Overall in the Chyoo world, I am rated 4.7. Yes, I am blowing smoke up my own ass!

In conclusion, I have 188 thread and 37 comments.

Strange

I have 385 approved threads, and I have recieved 56 comments. I recently had someone go through and vote 1 about 100 times on five or six of my stories. I have no idea what they did not like as they did not comment on them, very strange?

My overall rating in down to 3.9 as a result of that run of poor ratings, but I guess everyone is entitled to an opinion. I have been not doing much as of late as a result of things being especially difficult at my company right now, but I expect to be back on the stories I am writing for soon.

Were your stories on the Chyoo frontpage in the "best rated" section? These stories tend to get nuked HARD by overzealous bloat-headed new authors that want "their" stories to be there in place of yours.

That's what happened to my Star Wars one. It got a 5.0 with the comment posted above. It spent 24 hours in the "best rated" list before being nuked by 1.0 votes on its two threads, of course without attached comments...

I think that is exactly what happened Bunga. Any time one of my stories hits that front page it is quickly sent packing with a string of unexplained 1's. At first I took it kind of personally, being attached to my writing and all, but then I just decieded not to worry about it. It is all just arbitary anyway, and the ones I care about are the votes attached to comments as I feel then the person actually took the time to read the story.

Both of my stories were also nuked when they reached the top 5, someone bombed them with 1 ratings. I think it would be cool if CHYOO added a feature that would show whom voted for your story.

Maybe another "switch", allowing you to allow or disable anonymous voting for your stories? People voting on an "anonymous disabled" story would get a warning to the effect their name will be displayed to the editor...

Chyoo should just change the feedback system so it shows from what user it has come from. Or have the option to report people who make such ratings. I don't think I've ever rated any thread with a 1, I generally go for a 2 as there is usually something good in it somewhere.
