I recently watched the movie What Every French Woman Wants also known as Exploits of a Young Don Juan. I loved the premise. Does anyone know of a similar story?

I've seen clips of this. Where did you see it? Streaming, dvd?

I originally saw clips too and searched it out. Not entirely sure where I found the whole movie but it’s out there streaming on a tube site.

I like this idea. Young man finds himself living in a manor in post war Europe. Lots of lonely widows on the huge estate.

He finds himself there when he returns from the war because his mother has passed but not before telling him he is from a noble family. He shows up there, but his Uncle sees him as a bastard and tells him his only life there will be as a paid employee. With no other prospects he accepts. Before long the strapping young man is taking care of every lady on the plantation, including his uncles pretty wife.

I will probably get around to writing something like this at some point. Thanks for the suggestion. I hope you find a story or two. I'd do a story search for storys using the tags, Chatterley, manor, estate, maid, servant, etc.

In Post-War Europe, particularly France, I doubt there'd be "huge estates" where anyone could lead a life of leisure. Everyone was working hard to rebuild their lives.

Also, don't forget that France lost a lot of its old families in the Revolution, and even then most of the "aristos" were little more than glorified yeomen. There are plenty of ancient manor houses with barely enough land to scrape a living. Any newly found relative wouldn't be a paid employee, they'd be free labour.

Actually I was thinking about a British estate for that very reason. A farming magnate. But I'm not all that worried about historical accuracy.
