Figured out the H for greater than 4.5, N for new, W for contest winner.

what's the E?

a new story of mine went up today "Wrapdance" and it has an E next to it.

So what does that indicate:

Needs editing.
Caution, avoid
or maybe just Euwww!

just curious?

Congrats. The "E" is the "Editors Choice Award" for a great story.

Which paints a bigger target on you for the bitter trolls than anything on the face of Lit :p

Expect numerous visits from people with nothing better to do than spit venom.

No matter how much the trolls scream and spit, they can't take away that E, though :D

Congrats on entertaining the editors, manyeyedhydra.

I've been courious about the submission process and the E. How did you submit your story? Did you cut and paste or upload a text file or upload a word document file? The reason I'm asking is that I understand one way gets an editor to read it and submitting another way get a computer program to scan it. Trying to understand the ins and outs of Lit.

Cutting and pasting doesn't prohibit getting E's, I've found.

(And, yes, congrats on getting one, Manyeyedhydra.)

Wow, that's nice news.

I submitted as a normal cut'n'paste. It took a couple of days longer to go up though, but I think this might be because there's been a glut of submissions recently.

I'm glad the editors liked it although I'm a little surprised, i thought my stuff might be little too much on the weird side (just can't get rid of the horror writer in me) :)

It's picked up a H now. I don't think hiding in the erotic horror section is going to save me from the troll onslaught this time :)

Crap! No excuses now. Guess I need to step up my game.

But it does answer my question. Thanks sr.

Thanks. A contest just ended too, which can affect posting times.

I think that if I were 'editing' a gazagajillion porn/erotica stories I'd certainly like something on the offbeat side that would catch my attention and interest.

I noticed that most of the "E"-stories are a little on the weird side.

Usually very well written, and a pleasure to read, but still a bit weird.

:D

Since none of my stories has an "E", it cannot mean anything important.

(Yup, just jealous, of course. Congrats, manyeyedhydra!)
