We've had "what cheers you up" threads and "what makes you smile." But this is specific to your friends, your peers, your family, your SO. What do they do to make you smile?

My roommate, Diablogrrl, is usually really good at making me smile when I was down. When she knows I'm stressed or just generally pissed at the world, she'll come get me out of my room to go smoke on the balcony. Usually she has perfect timing - and tells the most crass, yet beautiful jokes, I could think of.

Just the other day, I was down down down, and we went outside and I swear she said the funniest thing that I've ever heard come out of her mouth.

I think her recent supportiveness of me really makes me smile. I should do something nice for her. :)

The Mischkas also do little things all the time that make me smile. They're the people I kinda turn to in town when I need some help because I know I can count on them. Mischka is also one of the most thoughtful people I've ever met.

So what do your friends do that make you smile?

Every now and then, maybe once a month, my roommate from college calls me at four in the morning to let me know

a) How drunk he is
b) how he did with the girls at the bar
c) that he'd still like to, given the opportunity, have his way with my wife

Which always cracks me up. The fact that he hasn't changed in 5 years is a constant source of great joy.

They 'get' me. That does it for me.

Or they do something so 'them' that I am charmed silly, because I 'get' them.

This one is for you, lavy :)

You know what Rambling Rose always did that made me smile. Well, other than the fact that she listens to my sniffling all the time, I could totally be girlie with her. I don't talk girlie things with hardly anyone.

It's like a sisterly bond thingie. :)

Every now and then my wife lets me have sex with her. Guaranteed to put a smile on my face.

My friend knows how to work with my jokes. He's intelligent and funny in his own right.

Whenever I am feeling down my friends will make me laugh and smile by just being how they always are ... we will begin to joke around and soon we are calling one another names and teasing one another non stop.

We will go to dinner and order bottles of wine and just enjoy one another's company.

Go shopping , or play PS2 till the wee hrs of the morning.

I have great friends. :)

Best friend of 15 years and current roommate says the funniest things sometimes. For example, read my sig line.

I've got to get him signed up here.

I don't really have any friends. I have colleagues.

I had an unexpectedly smiling time with my colleagues yesterday. They are pretty much it for offline friends.

I was in a good mood to begin with having had a really nice conversation of back and forth with another friend when me and two women at work had some quiet time.

The subject turned to sex toys and I just had to grin.

I even had a story to share that made them grin.

best pal of 15 years tells me about the chicks he wants to shag and his daily pursuit of survival w/ his shitty job at a grocery store. He is a very intelligent, creative, hard working guy (who gets down on himself)and we have the same sense of humor.
He often talks in a gay manner as a joke and calls me "sailor".
