Largely, that can be correct. Just the production values can be low quality - poor lighting and camera angles. Often because the camera is set at one or two angle, if it’s not a POV scene.

Also, a lot of the time, amateurs are filming with their real life partners. So casting choices can make scenes a bit silly. One time, I saw an amateur porn doing family play.
