What do you know about each other

I have come to the bulliten boards to read from time to time but never posted. I have also visited the chatrooms, occasionally speaking. I have read many of the stories on this site as well. In this forum I have noticed many names that seem to be regular posters. Some of these names I recognize from stories I have also read on this site. I have never seen anyone referred to outside of this forum on the posts. I wonder if there is any interaction outside of this forum between the regulars. Do you support each other elsewhere? Dominance and submission is discussed in the light of a community. How far does this community extend?

As an example, some of the regulars here are fine writers. Yet I have not seen reference to that. Is that against the rules of the forum since there is a writers forum as well?

WriterDom is an excellent author. I have read everything he has written and have his name on my favorites list. I do not know him but like the way he writes very much.

justgem is another one among you. She in fact very recently posted a new story that spoke volumes to me as a newly investigating submissive. She too is on my favorites list.

I am sure there are more but these were two names that came to mind of who I see in here. It occurred to me that many of you express yourselves in other ways besides what you post here and that many of the other avenues you use would start some very good discussions in here. Yet I do not see reference among you when someone does something that is not posted directly in this part of the site. Does it happen elsewhere? If it does not would it not be nice to acknowledge something well done by one of "yours" here?

I am not trying to insult anyone. I am curious as to the expance of this "community".

Thank you for your time.

You might want to read the stickys at the top of the page. It will answer most of your questions.

This forum is here for the discussion and /or exchange of information of BDSM.

heh, you pegged Writer Dom. *waves to WD* he's a brilliant and dedicated author with a savage libido! (and happily answers my dumb questions!)

concerning outside interaction between posters, i only know one person here in real life, and she mostly lurks around (hell, at least i got her to come check out the place!) i met her before either of us started coming here though, we've been friends for like 8 years or something. *waves to under*

as for the purpose of this community, we seem to have touched on that a lot lately, so yeah, what Eb said, go read through the library. ^_^

Many of the posters here have links to their stories and poems in their profile. There is bdsm poetry thread. There hasn't been much promotion of writing here outside of Lance's one short story contest. Another writing exercise might be fun for some. And a weekly review of the best bdsm story submitted wouldn't violate the rules of the forum either.

There are only 6 rules that I know of:

1. No spam
2. No personals ads
3. No posting of another's personal information
4. No posting of your own private email address
5. No personal threats
6. No posting of copyrighted images

The forum itself primarily focusses on BDSM discussion. I would be interested in any BDSM stories that have been submitted by our posters.

Some of us have ventured to other forums, other boards, instant messaging and private messaging and have generated friendship by doing so.

Many of us who have been here a while do know one another well vis a vis this forum and the extensive mother thread that is referenced in the sticky.

As far as how expansive the community is, that is difficult to answer. I can say that I have yet to find another like this, but then, it takes time to become fully integrated into any community, in real time or on line. So, perhaps I have just not been willing to "stick it out."

Heh -- WD just wants a weekly review so that he can win it!

I haven't submitted a story in over a year.
But I do like to sniff out new talent.

Hi Hi- Lookie Bunny- I'm experienced! I haven't been lurking, I've just been posting under the General Board. When are we going to get our cake and celebrate?

Anyhow, on subject. Ditto. I only truely know one person on and off this board although I suspect there may be another.

Some of us know each other outside this forum, by PM, IM or email.

Some of us are friends. Some of us don't know each other at all, except by our posts.

Most here are polite and kind and accepting of each other.

I attended a slosh with a friend of mine who is submissive. She participates on another place online. A person who is also active on the same place did a demonstration that night. After the slosh she wrote a post regarding what we watched him perform there and a very interesting conversation ensued. Something was well done by another poster outside of the forum they participate in and it was brought up for discussion.

That is what made me think of the other resources here. I did read the sticky thread and understand that the conversations here deal mainly with skin to skin occurances. I understand that information is the main goal. My thinking was that thoughts are sometimes produced from sources within this site that could be brought up here for discussion. Not to promote your particular story. There is much of that type of thing on the Author Feedback forum. To say though, this poster here wrote a story that made me think of something and bring it up for discussion would be very easy to do. Much like the slosh, it was something that a poster saw done by another poster outside of that specific forum. I hope I explained that alright.

As a side note, WriterDom I found your stories while scrolling through the authors index a few months ago. I did not know you had not written in so long. I hope to see you write something in the future, I check occasionally on the author pages I have marked.

Now I will step back and watch again. I do not wish to force my suggestions or opinions on anyone. Thank you for your replies.

Apart from the fact that I have no clue as to what a "slosh" is, here a few thoughts ....

We do indeed bring "outside happenings" onto this board for discussion - there are the threads describing events some of us have attended, articles we have read and experiences we have made. Whether or not they involve posters of this board other than the one bringing up the subject is of no consequence imo to the content offered for discussion.

It may be rather rare to meet one another, as we are a internationally and thus physically wide spread crowd, so chances to physically run into each other are rather small for most of us. But nevertheless, when it happens we discuss (or rather gossip).

We have had all sorts of mentioning stories we wrote, complimenting on first timers or pointing out older stuff - alas, like WD I haven't written anything for over a year now and many other of our more exposed writers, like Nessus eg. have been too busy with real life to grace us with their presence at all lately. In exchange we got a whole bunch of new talents lately, can't name all of them but I recall distinctly some threads about new (mainly extreme) stories posted!

So feel free to pop any BDSM-related topic onto the list for reviewing - stories, real life incidents, whatever ... and I am sure we will all be happy to contribute our thoughts, as long, as said, the core topic is BDSM related.

Now, you can step forward again, agoodgirl, and suggest and post ahead, and if you need "reassurance" go have a look at some of the older threads around her - we have it all - from writing - to clubs - to art *s* Whatever any of those inspiere you to discuss in a BDSM-context is suitable for here imo (respecting the sticky of course ;))

Check out the new threads!

Soemtimes, these sorts of threads inspire me to write.

There is a Story Discussion thread and a Writer's Challenge thread, for fun!

And yes, agoodgirl, welcome to the forum. I found your post thought provoking.

Thanks!
