There have been a couple threads lately about people having just plain icky days, or being in a bad mood. I seem to be gravitating in that direction. (well, actually i have been informed by the hubby that I've gravitated to psycho bitch on steroids, but anyhow.)

So what helps you all get out of that mood?
How do you get yourself to the point that you can laugh it all off?
Or just smile and say "fuck it"?

Smoke a bone & have a glass of wine, beer, port...whatever I'm in the mood for. Actually, I think it's just the bone that helps me...

Actually jellybean..that sounds like one hell of an idea. I think tonight will be a night for wine "slushies"!

I smile & just say Fuck it...sucks to be you, to who ever is in my general range of fire ... ;)

But that's me sweet Lady Love... kisses baby

Well, for me, I'd do what I'd do cooped up inside on these days. Grab a piece of paper and design the ultimate snowfort! Moats, cannons (by way of ice-ramps, sticks and rubber bands) and plenty of stoops from which to stand guard and throw mitten-packed snowballs from.

But there's no snow this year. :(

Other childhood activities help me though. I have a bunch of old junk, and when the doldrums strike, it's nice to go through them. I hook up my old intellivision and play some Tron or Astrosmash. Page through old yearbooks. Hell, making a simple 30-page "Interplanetary Spy" (Think the Spaceman Spiff of CHYOO) sounds kinda fun right now...

Be spontanious! After all, its not cold and grey outside if you don't think it is.

Go down, take a walk on the beach, watch the waves crash, the seagulls scream. Sit and watch the ocean make its endless assult upon the shore. Tomorrow is always around the corner

I put on a coat and go for a short walk. Then come back inside and have some hot chocolate with whipped cream or marshmallows and curl up in bed or on the sofa with a good book.

It will help....

If you increase the amount of light in your place. Turn on all of the lights possible in every room that you enter.

Let's see ... when I am feeling a little blue.

I will pop in a cd ... and not just and cd.... its my salsa cd. I will turn it up and just dance around my room. That usually gets me smiling & in the mood for some serious dancing ! :)

Or I will go for a drive and just meet up with my friends , they always make me smile. :)

When I lived by the shore, I would always go to the beach and boardwalk during the winter nights. Climb up the log flume and just watch the waves come crashing up and down the pier, on the good night you could watch the snow cover it all.

Now a days I stock up on a pile of good books, and if I am not reading I'm trying to write again. Usaully snaps me out of any funk I am in.

I masturbate it helps beat those winter blue balls almost as effectively as it does the summer ones

Almost effectively??

Winter orgasms are much more powerful than summer ones.

Something about the chill in the air and having to create some warmth.

To help those "winter blues"......I enjoy a nice hot cup
of cocoa or chai......snuggle under a warm blanket and
watch a video or a good movie on cable.......calling up
friends while there's a snowstorm going on outside.....

:D Much better today! I seem to have taken a bit of everyone's advice.
Wine slushies last night, and friends came over to play cards for awhile.
Some yummy red hot monkey lovin' to beat the winter chills ;)

And woke up this morning refreshed with a little grin that said "fuck it this is going to be a good day".

Course tomorrow will be even better, kids go back to school!

woooooooooooooooooooohooooooooo!

Winter blues

I wait for a cold, clear winter night, then drive out to the country to some back road not near anything at all, spread out a couple of blankets, and kick back and just look at the stars for a bit.

Works much better with a snuggling partner ;) !

I spend hours and hours planning a Spring vacation. And a couple summer trips, too. Gives me something to do now as well as something to look forward to later in the year!

The leafs. Take solace on the fact that the Maple Leafs are on top of the Eastern Conference and those blues seem to melt away.

Go Leafs Go!
