what do you collect?

i collect penguins (mainly stuffed ones). got tons of the little buggers. i probably should put them out on display sometime soon.

i'm also starting to collect knives, which makes working at a knife store both fun and horrible torture. i mean, yay! i get to play with knives at work! but no! i have no money to spend on them, really!

My son collects coins, which I'm okay with.

My daughter collects shoes, rocks, sticks, lonely children, stray and not-so-stray animals, bugs, interesting clumps of dirt, and whatever else captures her mercury-quick attention *G*, and I'm okay with some of that, but if you could see some of the damn ROCKS in my house and garden lol..... and I always get rid of the extra children and animals <shudder>.

As for MY collections, I limit myself to books (since I've TIGERed myself out, lol). I just don't limit my books *G*.

Chickens

It started years ago when my dad worked for Tyson and it has grown since then. Trying to figure out how to combine my chickens with someone else's stuff when I remarry if a tough one. At least he is accepting of my chickens.

I started thinking and had to come back and edit ...

I left out my cookbooks ..... I have over 200, I love the ones put out by schools and churches as fundraisers. Those are my favorite.

Other than the ever-popular dust bunnies, I have a hugh collection of giraffe items, including statues, picture frames, photos, socks, etc. Amazingly, I haven't come across a duplicate item yet!

i collect Dragons and OU Sooner stuff. i love dragons i have about 20 of them all over my room and i have alot of shirts of dragons and OU. Sooners rock. the dragons are mainly pewter i have a few that are porcelin(i hope that is spelled right). my momma used to collect bears.

At Christmas, I collect Ballet-based Ornaments. I have nearly enough to fill a small tree now.

I also collect the Pretty as a Picture figurines (You know, the pictures of little kids done in black and white, with little splashes of color, usually in romantic gestures)

And now, I am starting to have this thing for watermelons. My mother has always collected watermelons. They decorate her kitchen, and dining room. Well, mine was Ivy for those two rooms, and watermelon vines look damn similiar, and the red really compliments all the greeen. So now, when I see one, instead of grabbing it for my mother, I usually keep it. Makes her jealous.
