What do you call 57 Buffalo cops resigning?

Why was that man touching the cops? Patting that one cop on the wrist with his (phone?). I don't blame the police for pushing him back, but then he should have been attended to by someone (a medic?).

He was, they called EMS.

Now that we're out of the initial blush of first facts
that conveniently fit into The Story, we also find
that this man was a radical protestor who was
seeking confrontation with the police by
disregarding their lawful instructions.

But now, he's a hero because this make Trump look bad.

He is a very, very bad man...

Everybody got what they wanted.
He got the attention he craved and
the Progressives got more brutality...

A win-win for the woke cause because #OWLM

Probably shouldn't have been there. And it didn't look like an especially hard shove. But, to me, those aren't the big issues with the video. If he was committing a crime, they should have made sure he was breathing, waited for the medics, then arrested him when he was conscious and capable of understanding his rights.

dolf has no clue as to the purpose of formations.

Maybe she should read more about the Greeks/Romans and shield walls...

That looked more like sauntering towards a position than marching in tight formation.

The Buffalo Police Department and the officers who have resigned from a particular task (but not as police officers) have made a mess of public relations.

To 'resign' because your colleagues are being investigated is an example of police wanting to be above the law and to act with impunity.

The 57 should be dismissed for bringing the Buffalo police department into disrepute.

How did he make Trump look bad. That city has been run into the ground by Democrats all the way 'round. The police were acting on the orders of the Democrat Mayor and County Executive. We all know Democrats hate constitutional rights. This in squarely on the Democrats and there is no way to sugar coat it.

Bullcrap. Independent, international experts correctly point out the police did absolutely nothing wrong in this case. "Grandpa" is a communist anarchist. He wrote a check his frail little body couldn't cash.

I don't think that they resigned Only Because their colleagues who botched things, are being investigated.

That's what mass media are telling us.

And the way Cuomo and massmedia presented the video was slanderous.
After the guy fell to the ground, Policemen acted professionally: they cleared the area of the other hysterical BLM placard-waving civilian and of policemen,
to allow their EMT to give first aid.

Then why have they resigned if their colleagues are likely to be exonerated?

Their action has made the police department look even worse.

I don't know, I have a sense that most right- and left-leaning people realize that it's turned into a big clusterfuck:
--a combo of genuine uprisings against racism & police brutality & neocons
and antisocial riots and witch-hunting of cops
(yes I'm being Captn. Obvious)

But it's hard to admit it and keep the middle ground, with massmedia & all.

It certainly has been a clusterfuck in Buffalo.

If the officers are exonerated - a whitewash.

If they aren't - condemned by biased media.

I wasn't trying to attack your post, you've made valid points.

These threads are mostly an opportunity for me to express my confusion and unease over what's been going on since February (covid, tanked economies, American uprisings and riots). It's like an interrelated domino.
My parents and people back home are bewildered and apprehensive, I wonder how are Brits.

Is there a longer video than what I've seen so far? The man getting in their way, being shoved (but not hard), perhaps after putting his hands on one of the cops first, falling back, one of the two cops in the direct confrontation looking down at him and saying something (would be interesting to know what the cop said. A taunt? An "Are you OK?"), and a third cop holding up immediately and getting on his mobile as the other cops continued. Presumably the third cop called for a medic. That's where the clip I've seen stops. Did the third cop stay with the man until medical attention arrived? Did the protester receive medical attention as soon as possible?

I'm not seeing this as outrageous police brutality by what I've seen so far, and the protester clearing voluntarily put himself in harm's way in what I've seen.

"Nothing wrong?" A line of cops walked over and around a 75 year old man that was bleeding profusely from his ear as the result of the lack of professionalism from one of their colleague.

Somone quoted the lead prosecutor at the Nuremberg Trials of 1945, when he said he struggled mightily at how such a group of war criminals could walk with their heads held high. He came to the conclusion that the definition of the word "Evil" was "a lack of empathy".

Those losers on the Buffalo Police dept certainly showed a lack of empathy. Their main reaction when someone got hurt was to attempt to confiscate all the video recordings.

I hope each and every one of them learns how flimsy the excuse "I vas only following orders" is....didn't work well for their spiritual forefathers at Nuremberg

Exactly.
And imo, the video shows clearly that those two Police officers at least acted incompetently (you don't brutally shove an idiot who's poking objects at you in the middle of riots aside, you restrain his arms and remove him)
but mass media are misconstruing everything else about the incident.
