In my nonfiction writing real life persona, I've written an award-winning book that has since been cited by several other authors in their books and was such a unique bit of research that the Library of Congress designated a new subject heading just for my book. The ONLY book on its topic written in over ninety years, and still the ONLY modern scholarship on the topic.

A big bag of words and a good imagination.

Apart from the coffee and red wine, I think that the main thing I bring to all of my writing is simplicity. I remember, as a child, my father reading what I had written and saying: 'It's OK. But can you make it simpler?' My father reckoned that no one was ever penalised for 'writing it simple.'
