Jokes welcome.

The last few months I've started shaving my face, once or twice a week, to slough off old skin.

I've also been moisturizing once a day with a dark skin correcting creme. I've got some age spots on my cheeks. Most don't see them. I do.

My skin is acne prone so I can't use a ton of moisturizing lotions or wash with most soaps. I'll look like a pizza face.

You?

Close enough,I will be 50 in Aug.

I should moisturizer I suppose, thus coconut oil

Soap is damaging to your skin. It' basically lye, animal fat and chemicals. It will dry your skin out and result in oilier skin. I use a non scented glycerin soap and some aloe gel. Glycolic acid used a few times a week makes for a nice toner and helps remove and replenish skin. A diet rich in fruit and veggies I find beneficial as well. Oh, and water but I don't drink nearly enough of it.
On the bright side oily skin will not wrinkle as quickly or as much as dry skin. 🤷

There are some really good ones out there. I've got some fine lines that I fight with.

Enjoy those 3 years. Trust me on this.

I use plain white Dove soap but I have to be careful to rinse it all off. I have to be careful with anything that has oil in it, including make up. Pizza face.

My dad had very oily skin and I have inherited it, although, it's not as bad as he had.

I drink the crap out of water, Drs orders. I just drank so much, I feel kinda sick. :(

Yes! I also am careful in the sun now and don't do a lot of makeup anymore.

I miss the old school Noxzema in the glass jar! Old school.

I remember Noxzema.

I can't wear a lot of makeup anymore, either. I used to look so nice with make up on. Now, I look like a prostitute.

My av is no make up except for lip stick.

I shave my head so I apply coconut oil as a moisturizer afterwards to give it a shine.

Same. Avoid sun and I rarely, if ever, use makeup unless burt's bees tinted lip balm is considered makeup. ;):)
Coconut oil is a great moisturizer, argan oil, too. A little coconut oil on your teeth is nice, makes them shiny and is an antibacterial agent.

I need to take lessons from you.

AM routine:
1) Wash face with cold water
2) Apply moisturizer
3) Apply sunscreen

PM routine:
1) Cleasnse with hemp seed oil (it's non-comedogenic - doesn't clog pores)
2) Cleanse with hydrating cleanser
3) Apply moisturizer
4) Apply lip balm

What do I do? Not enough, apparently. My grandsons tell me I've got a turkey neck.
If I do, you can't tell from looking in the mirror.

I exercise fork control so as to minimize face-washing effort. I wash it in the shower with a generic, fragrance-free moisturizing soap that I think is supposed to be Dove that I get from CVS, then shave it, blind, still in the shower (along with the rest of my head) then put a dime-sized dollop of Nivea for Men Cooling Post Shave Balm in my palm, rub my hands together then coat my entire face and scalp.
