What do we duplicate posts?

Just wondering. In on thread today I saw the same image duplicated four times. Now I'm not complaining because I love looking at beautiful woman. But instead of duplicating an image so we can just make a comment about it, why don't we just say for example........"the redhead in post #3296 is beautiful, ,,, or has pretty eyes.................or I'l like to make love to her.............. ' or whatever, instead.
Wouldn't it save alot of space?

Because when you quote to comment, the whole thing is placed in the quote. And the number after each quote has nothing to do with the thread count. I'd be saying something like...

The post that WestMich69 posted (number 38401058) is the best post of all time.

Which makes no sense.

Seeing the same picture posted multiple times is something we posters and gawkers are just going to have to live with.

Actually if someone were to come along and quote a picture, they *could* feasibly remove the linked tags so long as the original quote had more than the image to the post ;)
