what do the H and N mean on the stories?

Hot is when a story has a score of over 4.5 after a certain number of votes.

New is when it came out within the last week.

E means Editor's Choice, that the editor thought it was a great story.

W means it won a contest.

Ever seen a story that boasted all 4?

Well the N only lasts for a week so that one is no big deal.

I don't recall the name, but Paco Fear has one that has an E an H and won a contest.

That is the only one I have seen, but I have heard people say there are others. With as many stories as there are here I am sure there are a few.

the N has been explained.

the H needs at least ten votes and a score of 4.5 (or above)

W is for winning a contest - or placing in the regular themed contests.

E is editor's pick - which is if Laurel enjoys the story.

for me, the E is the grail, and i'm still working for it. :D

The thing I've noticed about the holy E is that the majority of those stories aren't popular with the people. They get low ratings and not very much reaction.

Laurel must have different taste than the common people. ;)

More likely sour grapes trolls in action.

I agree with the E being the most coveted--because it's the only one that can't be manipulated on the basis of something other than the story itself--or somebody's hate campaign.

Just like the ingredients going into the "most popular author" category lists revealing the difference between the expansive set of readers of that category and the efforts of the few conducting a targeted hate campaign against a specific author.

Yes, the "appreciation" of ONE person far out weighs that of hundreds sometimes thousands of people.

If that were true the Presidential election would be decided by one person.

And sour grapes are what people who couldn't find a top list with a gps feel for those that are on them.

And any of their stories without an H are obviously trolled

But all the top list authors with H's are obviously cheating.

Interesting logic.

Now do make sure you call out Pennlady and Tx rad and Cruel2bkind and Alwayswantoo and many feathers as well as pretty much any of the top 25 or so favorite authors on this site cheaters when next you "speak" with them.

All of them are at a very high percentage of H's per story so they must be cheating.

Better go after Jaz Cullen; over 100 stories and 100% hot.

She must really be cheating.

As I noted, it drives some targeting hate campaign assholes just apeshit that they can't manipulate an affirmative system here like the green E--or the "most popular authors"--based on all of the readers reading in that category--system on the category pages. :D

Wait, what's this? I was just alerted that Pilot has been chosen as the first recipient of a new Lit award!

The coveted SGA!

Something tells me the other author's are going to be hard pressed to get this one away for him.
