Being in the UK, I haven't seen it yet.

What do people think who have?

Its nice in its own way, unique to itself and not like other startreks.

I am taping it in VHS format for a gal in Germany from here on lit.

If your interested let me know, we might be able to work something out

I like it. It's a good series, and has plenty of potential to become one of the better series they have come out with. Plus, I like the fact that they give it the feel of how they are kinda goin by the seat of thier pants. I anxiously await the next episode.

I like it

I was hoping it would tie in with the original series a bit more. As far as historical references that is. They did mention Zefrem Cochran but not his disappearance. He was found by the 1701 crew on a deserted planet being sustained by an alien being that fell in love with him...

OK....Does that make me an official "Star Trek Nerd"?

One thing.....I hate the theme song on the new show!

Ah, yeah. Couldn't they have chose something better than Rod Stewart? The show is ok. I watch it by default ( DH being too big to get the remote away from) and it's entertaining.

I like it now but it was a little slow going the first episode or two. I'm not really fond of Scott Bakula in the role of the captain but I'm sure he will grow on me. Enterprise gets better and better with each episode. I had my doubts at first. It grows on you like the last series. Besides, the Vulcan science officer is really HOT! :p

Phantom.

Yeah she is...

but what is it with the Vulcans and their mental patient hair cuts?

I half expect to look at her and see drool running down her chin.

Lt. Saavik (Kirstie Alley)....now that was a vulcan. Imagine those pointy ears poking you in the belly;)

At least they are dealing with humanity issues like the original series and not degrading into techno babble like TNG did.

Seemed like every episode of TNG involved Laforge conjuring up some engineering whiz bang device to harmonize the frequncy with the tachyon emmissions that were threating to send the Enterprise into a temporal vortex where they would spatially interphase with different universes and ...and ...and....AHHHH I acan't stand it no more.....Just blast them Geordi!

Is there anything to compare with 7 of 9 in the new series,
now that was a fantasy

I'm really enjoying it - it fills in a part of the Star Trek universe that was only referred to in other series.

And - as others have said - the theme song SUCK BIG MOOSE COCK. Worst goddamn stupid theme song in the history of theme songs.

There was at least 2 threads where people discussed the theme song - unfortunately, since search barely functions anymore, I can't find them.

The theme song aside - the show is a must watch.

Jolene Blalock

T' Pol had her own spread in Maxim magazine she was on the cover! The actress is named Jolene Blalock, she doesn't look this hot in the series because she is a vulcan. So all her hair is covered up. I dont know if the link bleow works but you can give it a try. http://maximonline.com/girls_of_maxim/girl_780.html

Thanx Lazarus will try it now

I like it. I question the appointment of Scott Bakula, certainly. But the show itself is quite interesting, covering issues like the distrust of the transporter.
(and I love the song. I think it fits, but it's unfortunate that I always feel like watching Patch Adams when I hear it, and I wasn't terribly impressed with that movie *G*)
The intro, showing historical references from the HMS Enterprize all the way to present day, and then beyond, is rather clever.

Boy, I'm starting to get the feeling that I'm easy to please <smile>.

But what I'm really interested in, as of this past episode, is the relationship between T'pol and Trip...

(I'm also hopelessly romantic....)

Thanks for responding, everyone...

The new series sounds good.

Alas, I can't watch it on Sky One until February of next year.

Bah!

:(
