Man, I put the thing in over and over.

It never stays in. Do I have to start over with a new username and put it in from the first and never change it?

I mean it aint great, but what the hell, I want it in the profile.

It usually takes a couple days before it appears, after you load it. Last time I changed my pic it took over a week. So if you've loaded it, wait a week at least. I think profile pics have a lower priority than getting stories posted.

best, Perdita

I must say that's reassuring.

I will wait that week from the last time
I put the thing in there, since each time probably resets the clock.

My stories don't post either, been three weeks on the first one

been two weeks on the artwork,
no sign of that at all on the submissions page.

I guess the best thing is somebody does at least see a post in the BBS when you put it there...

Thank you from the heart!!!

Do you click on the pending link to open it and see? That puts it at the end of the posting line again.

Alternatively, did you send it in via email? Or upload it as a Word doc.? That takes longer than copying and pasting in the submission box.

You submitted a story with artwork?

No, the artwork was separate, damp.

I thought I'd put the art in right, but
only the story shows up in the submissions page.

That shows with a very cryptic little notation that the thing "needs to be submitted"

But how they know that without seeing it as a submission is a mystery.

My response to the mystery was to submit it again, but nothing has happened to change any part of the form because of that.

I dunno. People do seem to have managed to post things, art included, so I will just be patient and persistent. I can't even imagine the nightmare amount of work involved running a site like this.

1. Your artwork will not be shown on the submissions page. It will only be shown on your memberpage. Memberpage is this.

2. the "to be submitted" means you have not submitted correctly. When it is submitted correctly, the link should read "pending". Click on the "to be submitted" link and click on the tab saying submit. When it gets you back to the submissions page after that, check if the link has turned to "pending". :)

Pending now

Actually, what I did was remove all the accents from the vowels and change the thing's punctuation and paragraphing so I could do without italics, so that it could exist as a text file and be pasted in.

Then I ignored the advice of the notice above the box about not submitting twice because both would be lost, and submitted it pasted into the box.

Now it says pending. Which is altogether much more hopeful than "Needs to be submitted." But both could be lost, so it's maybe still even. ;)

You are sweet to help.

There is a section in the index page of the site with some people's erotic illustrations; this is the artwork of which I was speaking, my illos and my sketches and a couple of posters which had nudes. These have a link in the introductory paragraph saying submit artwork llike this , but it's a mailto: link wherein one sends the drawings as .jpg or .gif attachments to the email.

So I did that. Artwork on a moderated site can't be handled with automation. Some person will have to look at them.
That's why they have simply vanished for those weeks, since the lit is the backbone of the site. One day some of them may appear.

Thank you for your gracious willingness to help a confused stranger.

You rock.

You mean illustrated stories? Yep. They're supposed to be submitted via email. :)

Pending is good. Now the wait begins.

Italics can be managed. See my 'How To' on Bold or Italic?.

Accents are possible, too, but it's tedious in a .txt file. PM me if you want more info.
