As I idly perused the pic threads, I noted (not for the first time) that many of the threads have been designated by their starters as "BBW" or "Plus Size." There have already been a number of threads dedicated to the question, "Why do women use these labels?" with a fair number of responses, so I won't ask it again. (The threads in question can be found here and here.)

My question is different: If you DO feel the need to designate yourself as BBW or "Plus" or "Larger" at what point did you feel that need? Was it a number on the scale? The reactions to your thread? Or what? I am curious. PM me with your thoughts if you feel sensitive about this issue, but would still like to share.

Part of me thinks that if I ever did another thread, I would like to label it FAT GIRL in the spirit of "Say it loud, I'm Black and I'm proud!", a "fuck you" to all the euphemisms that make being fat seem like such an embarrassing little secret.

Why don't they feel the need to exorcise and reduce the weight?

Probably because an exorcism won't help anyone lose weight. I think you need exercise for that.

well, exorcising does induce purging and, while dangerous and not recommended, can be seen as a source of weight reduction

okay, okay, and life reduction

not to mention that it is quite messy

Don't you know that the average demon of possession weighs 5 to 7 pounds?

In all seriousness though, My wife wanted a bbw label when we had a thread a shile back. She's 130 lbs. It's that whole societal thing, that if you're not a supermodel, then you have to "warn" people.

Hey, MC hijacked my thread! Enough exorcism, people. Answer the question!

I do not put BBW all over my thread even though I consider myself to be chubby. I just dont think that I am quite big enough for that title. Some people may disagree but I also think that it is lame that everyone puts it all over the place thinking they need warn people against looking at them. Have a look, if you absolutely cannot stand it, the back button is conveniently located at the top of the browser. I would be interested in figuring out if maybe I should have the BBW thing on my thread, for sure...

Sorry, Monique. I never felt the need to designate. As rrocks just pointed out, the back button is anyone's friend.

Please do not put any such labels on future threads. As beauty is in the eye, so is the definition of fat. You are truly a beauty.

130 and she wanted the bbw label? Wow.

I would not have thought that I was big enough for it either, but since coming here and hanging out I've had to reconsider. Like the other poster's wife, I would feel compelled to "warn" people. On the other hand, yeah, what exactly am I warning them about? I have to look at things I don't like all the time, and no one ever warns me. Is the mere sight of a woman who doesn't look like a professional model truly so horrifying that it has to marked like a road hazard? I guess that for some people it is. Now that's pretty sad.

Thank you. But presumably, if it is all so subjective, I could be both beautiful and fat, right? ;)

It does seem such an odd label. I think there people who simply love different kinds of people. Some guys like girls with small breasts and vice versa. There are girls who only want big cocks and girls that don't care. The spectrum is broad and BBW is unnecessary in my opion. On a site like this, you (the proverbial one) are bound to find quite a few who adore you. That's a wonderful thing.

Lose the labels people.

BTW, Rrocks--Monique, both of you are simply beautiful.

I personally don't like the BBW label. My opinion is that it should be banned! Should the thin girls also put "skinny chick" in their titles as well? Nah, don't label yourself, let the people that look at your threads decide for themself if they like it or not. If the like it, they will come back, and maybe post, if they don't, well then they won't come back.

Granted: Some people don't like the BBW label. But the evidence suggests that many other people do find it useful. Why?

I hate labels because society wants everyone to fit into a category: BBW, Gen-X Gen-Y, etc. I know what I like when I see it and I don't need a label to "warn" me.

Yea I kinda wonder why there is that label BBW. At one time, I remember, I did not know what BBW was. I thought at first it was a miss spelling of BMW. But after I delved in futher it definately was not that. Could it be "Big Black Women"? or perhaps, "Big Beautiful Women"? Anyway, I am wondering if I should start a new label.... SMH (small to medium hung).....

Big, small, tall short, don't much matter to me. Naked YEA! I like that. Boobs and tits.. .bring em on!!!

signing off...

I almost thought this was ganna be about cock size till I seen who posted it

I only believe in the BBW title if you're so big you need help getting around the house

just my 2 cents

My boyfriend always complained about how sometimes women who have slightly padded hips or larger breasts or were just fuller figured, but not fat, designated themselves as bbws. He thinks that I'm at the smaller end of bbws and that the real ones are those even larger than me. Now I don't know if I'd go as far as that, but I do agree with him on the part of women who I'd consider average calling themselves bbws. I think the 130 pound "bbw" is a perfect example of that.

I use the label for a few reasons. I've always been a large girls. I was a large preschooler. A large 4th grader, 7th grader, high schooler, college student. And even if I do lose 100 pounds, which will definitely help with health later on, I was still be full figured and curvy because that's my body type. To try to become a size 4 would be futile. I'd be thrilled to be a size 12. When I made a pic thread for the first time, I made my title based on other's, and some had age, gender, and...girth, I suppose. It actually ended up attracting a good amount of people who were looking for that particular description, but on the downside, I think it drew in the two trolls that ended up hijacking and killing my thread. Since then, I don't include it in the title, but I do make a warning (and there was a thread regarding these, too) about my size, only because I hope that someone who doesn't want to see a larger woman will press the back button instead of clicking on my first pic, going "oh my god! blood is oozing from my eye sockets!", and then leaving a reply going on about how I'm fat, because really, I didn't know that I was since I'm an idiot. Then again, they could see the warning and leave the same reply anyone without even looking at my pics, so I guess I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't.

I view myself as a BBW because when growing up, in my household it was used a strong, confident way to express oneself. I am big. Fat. Large. I am beautiful. Pretty. A looker. I am a woman. Chick. Girl. When I created my moniker, I thought it was clever. I still think it is, however, it is kinda embarrassing to be introduced by it at a litogether.

I don't really have an opinion on the BBW "label", but I do know that I find that attractive, lovely women come in a lot of different sizes. This is a great thread.

Love bbw

I think they are buxum women or full figured if you chose. and thats they I like them.

The label don't bother me, I'm a plus size gal, I know it. I think the beauty comes from how you handle yourself and how you portray yourself to everyone. Sexy comes from within, not from the outside.

I didn't label my thread that way either ... Didn't feel the need to. I don't think I've had one bad comment.

Oh and I really don't think that we have to warn anybody, I mean if they click on the pic and don't like it, don't post. Its easy I know, and I also know that there are some out there that cant be adults, ignore is a wonderful feature.

If I ever got a nasty post ... it wouldn't keep me from continuing to post.

Just my two cents.
