What brought you to lit?

I found it to read erotic stories when porn became dull and boring. I starting thinking I could write stories better than most of them that I was reading, and got a great response from my early creations. Found the forums next and have good times and bad times with them. But have also developed a few long term online relationships that have provided me with immense joy. Happy to have found Lit!

Would love to hear.
Well, I'm here because my kink is more than my wife will indulge. The only real kink my wife entertains is occasional anal play (on her), much of the time she truly enjoys which I am very grateful for and on a rare occasion she'll let me rim job her. That, she doesn't really enjoy, it kinda grosses her out but she lets me do it for my sake. Our sex life gets very routine so I'm often left to be in my head thinking up fantasies that will never come about.

How about you @kinkyyjulia, what kinks did you discover through lit?

To chat and meet like minded people. I started taking cbd oil at night and have amazing dreams and it made me think of life as different rooms in a house and I enjoy coming on here, chatting and being myself

Late 2000s: crumbling/sexless marriage.

Looking for sex stories and stumbled upon the forums.

Divorced 2012, met my (now) wife that same year. She’s very sexual and we have a great sex life.

Lit has helped me experiment more with kink, explore some fetishes, meet great people (most virtually, but some IRL) and form some great friendships.

My wife is on lit too. She’s not a very prolific poster tho.

I did a google search for stories and how i found literotica, i still love the stories and started to enjoy the forums and the different threads but still love a good storry

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I was a teacher. I had a young lady write a detailed sex story about finding her favorite teacher in the dark room after school and went into great detail the things she did to him. It was the first sex story I ever read (or starred in).

A couple of years later i became an admin at a different school and the new principal tortured me. Every Friday we had happy hours on our deck, and one of my wife's teacher friends was always the center of attention. She was usually the last to leave but nothing ever happened. I did write a long, detailed story (like my student had) of my wife and I getting in a threesome with her friend. That story helped me survive that year.

Many years later I was researching women-friendly porn sites for my wife and learned about Lit. I broke my original story into three parts and submitted it and have written 20+ more stories since then.

Came here about 20 years ago for the stories. Stuck around. Created a profile. Met a few people, role played. Then left due to personal stuff. Kept coming back for stories. Finally came back a few years ago with a new name.

Interesting stories
I just liked reading smut, and a search found Lit.
Then I found really good stories. Authors that wrote smutty epics (@Thors_Fist, Tefler, @Todd172, @qhml1 @writerannabelle ) Some didn't have sex in, but were still great reads. And they were free!

So after a while I got an account, and after a while of watching wondered if I could write, Then a story just resonated with me. I started out as a contributor aged 68. I've had a lot of support from the forums on initial contributions, and editors have helped a lot too. All in all, a lot of fun for nothing.

And of course the sexy stories, which are a long way outside my married sex life.

20 plus years ago a friend from work told me about it. Said it was a sexual smorgasbord. I had no idea there were this many topics/stories/threads about sex. More importantly were people who had similar fantasies, fetishes and situations like mine, that I could relate. Not to mention stories about taboo subjects. I have had a couple different avatars due to accounts issues but I have stayed and enjoyed. I jut wish there were more woman here who want me to eat their pussy! LOL

The third purpose is to find out where my sensibility fits in the world of erotica today. I was introduced to erotica in the late 60's. At that time The Story of O was being talked about in the mainstream media. I was very surprised to find that there are almost no stories like that in modern day erotica. I'm very curious about how people perceive those "classic French erotica" stories and my own stories.
Not sure what "no stories like that" means? Generally speaking, The Story of O is a large part of the reason that BDSM erotica is a mainstream genre today, with hundreds of titles on a site like Goodreads, entire free sites devoted to BDSM erotica, and a practicing BDSM culture that is far less closeted (and far more carefully consent-driven) than anything in the Sixties. But it does stand to reason that very few works would rise to the level of artistry The Story of O achieved or adopt its specific style: it's deservedly regarded as a great book.

Anyway. Okay. What brought me to lit?

I've always liked reading erotic/pornographic fiction -- I really used to dig some of those "Anonymous" titles you could find on the bookshelves at Cole's -- and I tried my hand at writing some around ought-Seven, during a period where I found myself with a little time on my hands. Circulating on the Internet of Erotic Things eventually brought Literotica to my attention, and I read a few stories here. But the reason I finally started writing here was to try my hand at winning one of those cash prizes.

I was productive here for a pretty brief, concentrated period before going on to publish work at other sites and then becoming a freelance writer (which basically eighty-sixed most of the free time I would have used to write sexy stories). I don't anticipate I'll have the time to devote to the hobby again anytime soon, but I still like looking in here from time to time.

Pussy..... It's what's for dinner!!
(Or at least it should be!)

Thank you to everyone who has shared! Some very interesting stories of how you found lit, some very straightforward. Please, keep 'em coming! It's great a great way to get an introduction to people, perhaps even lead to more!

I think it was the restrained style that I couldn't find.
But it does stand to reason that very few works would rise to the level of artistry The Story of O achieved or adopt its specific style: it's deservedly regarded as a great book.
And this is probably why.

Me too! :)
