Alan Furst

Alan Furst: Blood of Victory.

The 'blood' in question is the petroleum oil that the Nazi's needed to sustain their conquests.

If you like the WWII era, you might try the novels of Alan Furst. His time period is 1933 to around 1944; his territory is central Europe, Russia, Greece, Paris, etc. The theme is generally spy/intelligence, but his reluctant characters are absolutely caught up in and have to survive the times. Very moody, dark, cynicism, romance found wherever it can fit in. There are about 12 or so of the novels. Good reading.

Just Finished: The Passenger (Lisa Lutz)

A very good book whose ending elevated it to a great book (one reader's opinion). I'm curious to hear the thoughts of others who have read it.

Starting: The Chemist (Stephenie Meyer)
