Watched some movies:
Finished up The 33, about the rescue of the trapped Chilean miners in 2010. Great performances by Antonio Banderas and supporting actors Gabriel Byrne and Lou Diamond Phillips, certainly make the movie, but it is the depiction of the 33 miners banding together that is the is the heart of this film.
Next, a long delayed 2nd watching of The Recruit, starring Al Pacino and Colin Farrell with an admirable turn by Bridget Moynahan. Fortunately, it had been so long that I forgot almost all of it, except for the final twist. Great, complex thriller that never fails to make sense - even at the end, when your perceptions are thrown up for grabs.
Now I'm halfway through a first watching of Species: The Awakening.
Sorry (not sorry) I like this franchise, with its veneer of science, its naked gorgeous babes and its gory violence. Call me a human male, I guess.
