Some toss around pet names and compliments like candy and mean none of it other than casual affection. I don’t have a problem with that.

Some have meaningful connections with multiples. I’m ok with that too.

Some treat women as interchangeable.. THAT makes me uncomfortable. Everyone is worth being recognized as a unique person with their own value.

I don't know where you're from, but there are places in the American South where men and women call each other pet names when they're just transacting business at a grocery store or a bank. It's simply customary.

I’m from Savannah, Ga.

Typically, when women do it, it seems casual. Mostly harmless. However, they also do it when they want something from you.

It can be a fucked up manipulation tactic regardless of whether it’s a man or woman who does it. But if you think men are the only ones who do it, you’re clearly delusional.

As I've gotten older, I refer to a lot of women as "Hun". I use it as a term of endearment to those I'm close to. It's not meant to be disrespectful. I also refer to people younger than me as "kid". That may be a bit disrespectful
