That is equally as sad. Always to get next to nothing labor. It's not just the developmentally disabled. Some inmates are "rewarded" the opportunity to be outside with little supervision and no payment for work performed, like picking up trash.

When I was a child, my father could go to the nearby prison and borrow inmates to clear fields and get up hay. I thought nothing of it at the time, being a child, but later it horrified me. Some of these men were maybe glad to be out for a while to be outside and make themselves useful. But they were not getting the right kind of motivation to make the rest of their lives better.
 
I'm a bit peckish. Despite eating three good meals a day on my holibobs. Damn...
 
I may have pushed it this weekend. At least that’s what my lower back is telling me.
 
Halloween is the only time of year when going door to door demanding compensation with implicit threats of property damage is not only socially acceptable, but encouraged.
