No rain in the Texas forecast after Friday morning, and with 268,597 square miles you can get lost for a looooong time.

Thinking about a woman who smiled at me this morning and said "Hey, there" as if we'd known each other for years, even though we'd never met. And I automatically responded in the same fashion, as if we were old friends. I was intrigued. I watched her for a minute or two interacting with other people in the same way. She had this remarkable, magnetic talent. I felt for a moment that she was magical.

I'm frustrated about Skype not working properly last night. So I'm cleaning my computer and running a scan to see if I have any viruses on it. Than I will uninstall and reinstall Skype again. Hoping this will fix the issue.

Have you been around any 14-year-old boys lately? They can make a sex joke out of pretty much anything. And fart until you want to leave them in the car and walk to your destination. They are truly awful human beings; I don't know how they reach adulthood without being offed by the people they annoy.

Sometimes just patience and not showing they are getting to you works. I was having problems with a senior manager who didn’t like me, who would take every opportunity to ridicule me and criticise me and my work. He even held me responsible for things I wasn’t even near! I was highly stressed, but I didn’t let him see it, and by just carrying on, he’s seen me handling a lot, including being involved in a over two hour long standoff yesterday in which the police were called multiple times. I seem to have finally earned his respect, and he’s started joking with me, venting to me, and even supported me when a customer hit me last week. I never thought we would get to this point, but trust me - things were bad. Hopefully they will start to look up for your gf too

When I worked in offices, I almost always had positive experiences with managers and coworkers. But every once in a while, you run into a person who has a dysfunctional personality. It's a good idea to keep a journal where you document problems you've had in the workplace.

Unfortunately that's unlikely; without getting into a huge amount of detail, she's been moved to another town unwillingly, and she thought she had a choice in what she'd be doing when she got there, but now that's not the case because her boss has just cut the rug out from under her. And he has previous for this, too.

That sucks. I’ve been there though - five years ago I had a line manager who destroyed everything I’d spent five years building up, and ended up leaving me homeless. It was the worst time of my life. But ultimately, it taught me how to deal with assholes, and how to depend on myself - that if I could work my way out of all the shit he left me in, I could get myself through anything. These people disrupt our lives for a while, but they make us a little stronger in the process! And while we move on, they are still assholes, living lives where they drive everyone away.
