What Are YOU Thinking? Continued 3

I think I cancelled my account there. Oy, I'm too old to be moving things around.

I cancelled mine. I never got into the whole routine on it and it wasn't as easy to navigate and do forum chats with as Lit.

Yeah, it's set up more like social media than a forum. The forum almost seems a side thought, but it's tolerable. I'm not overly active there.

Thinking how I go to places and seek out people in my little world because it seems to heal my spirit. And how kind people are to me, even when perhaps I irritate them a bit. I aspire to live in a state of gratitude. But still, with a hard-on.

Love life man, both spiritually and physically and you'll never grow weary.

Some mumbo like that. ;)

Yeah, I heard that it had sold. I went and looked and it is owned by Sun Lane Media now. I don't think Laurel and Manu have a hand in it any longer.

I had to edit my post, Sun Lane, when put together is a censored word..

This is fascinating. Hmmm . . . thinking about possible implications.

I wonder what it costs to buy a site like this? Why would someone buy it? How do they plan to monetize their acquisition? Are they studying us now to determine what changes they need to make?

Yeah, as soon as I learned that, the broken profile function made a lot more sense. Been broken an awfully long time after all.

I had heard that to fix the profile function, that a costly software upgrade was required and the owners didn't want to put the $ into it.

I found nothing on a quick Google search for Sun Media either. Or the contracted version of those words :)

Most forums end up being sold to another source after a few year so if Lit's been sold then I'm not surprised.

It would be far less expensive to simply create a new forum and use more current software. Any success would depend on how tech savvy and personable the individuals starting such a forum are.

I was on a forum once that was sold. The problem is the new owner comes in amid an entrenched culture, and they seem to not do much to help. My greatest moment of Lit pride was killing the Ask the Moderators thread

And I dunno why anyone would invest in forums, really. The other social media have made them really quaint

So... do we call you y the AtM killer now then???

I noticed!

Are the moderators on strike? I see that several threads are way past the 5,000 mark.

Heck, I’ve stopped the Emporium on my own right at about 5,000 twice. Who needs ‘em?

Actually, we do...to counter stalking or doxxing
