I went to mail the cardigan, mittens, and beanie I made to a customer in England. UPS wanted 400 dollars to ship it! USPS was 50 dollars. Phew! That's a lot of money. Anyway, crocheting is a ton of fun.

We did 1 and 1/2 week there in '17. Horrible coming back. I took the full 2 wks off work and it still sucked. I feel for ya

I grew up in a tourist town, and I know the stresses it can cause on the locals.

In Hawaii so many of the tourists from the mainland are already awake at dawn looking for decadent breakfast service. When I’m there, I see the stress and irritation behind behind the plastered on smiles. I see the local working stiffs struggling to afford the basics, many without a hope of owning their own island homes that haoles buy up for investment properties and put up on Airbnb. Am I just too woke?

Most of the time I’ve spent in Hawaii I’ve been working on blue collar projects. I’ll show up at a breakfast line at a shop in my work clothes and the person behind the counter will take a moment to catch their breath and give me a real smile and say “hey, what can I get ya?” Going as a tourist is a whole different experience.

Not looking for cyber sex, but get the Marlboro thing for sure! Oh I don't wear perfume either, but still. Not many people talk about smoking here. And honestly? Yes they probably would. Lots of older guys here who grew up smoking or at least around it.

Well I usually smoke weed at night so I think that smell fades or gets showered away.
