I love holding my kitten like a baby, and he actually enjoys it, if his purring is an accurate indicator. My Mom would have adored him, she always wanted a lapcat, but none of hers were. Bittersweet moment this morning telling him how much his Grammie would have spoiled him.

Well now that all my responsibilities have officially been given to a contract group I’m wondering what I’m supposed to do. Guessing I’ll go on a coffee run in just a few minutes.

If I may provide some clarity, I work in a field that has gotten all too cozy with outsourcing.

Sometimes, they want to retain you long enough to train the outsourced or consultant, ok, in that case you are entitled to ask for a benefit.

Get your CV or LinkedIn in order and call all of your contacts. Your negotiating position now is better than if you are out. The only reason to stay is if they tie a bonus for staying until the cutover to the new team.

It sucks, I know, don’t loose hope in your competence.

It’s all screwed up right now but I’m keeping my eyes open and trying to be flexible. I really appreciate the info though and I’m beefing up my resume and chatting with the people I know in town and other areas of the US.
