Bone-Tired Benediction

There comes a point in the day when even coffee surrenders,
its strength no match for the weight of weary bones and the chorus of to-dos crowding my mind.

My body aches, shoulders carrying tasks not yet done, my thoughts spill over like water from a brimming cup -
too much, too fast, too heavy.

And yet - when night softens the edges of the world and I finally lie down,
the quiet wraps itself around me.

I am bone-tired, yes. But in that stillness,
a smile finds me anyway.

Because I showed up.
Because I gave what I could.
Because the day, however relentless,
was not wasted.

And if this is the last thought I hold
before slumber takes me -
let it be enough.
Let my weariness be offering,
my labor be litany,
my work itself the prayer.
