What Are You Thinking? Continued 14

Talking to my wife, "Let's talk about why third base is the best base." And she came back with, "What sports analogies do people use in countries that don't play baseball?"

So now we're thinking about what oral sex is in soccer-ese.
'He's got a wide open goal to aim at, he just has to be careful not to go offside'

Being a caregiver, even part time, is incredibly draining. Imagine having a 150 lb toddler that you have to bathe and dress but it's your parent so they're also bossy. 😅

I really didn't want to go last night, but I did anyway. It makes for a really long day during the work week. I'm glad I did because I love my Dad and these days I'm as protective of him as I would be of my child. He has that child like joy in things that makes my heart so full.

Last night after his shower I got his adult diaper and he stood up. I was holding it at his feet for him to put his feet in it before he stood up. I asked him if he was trying to kill himself (he doesn't have the balance necessary to get dressed standing up). He started laughing and sat down. We had a good laugh over him forgetting his limitations instead of having a pity party. These little moments of joy are what life is about.

After reading this I am thinking you're a really good woman and we are lucky around here to get a glimpse of that..

(even if you threaten to shank me at times)

This is really beautiful and a good reminder to me to look for those little moments of joy when things are tough. Thank you for sharing

I was thinking about how some of you have been so freaking amazing and how glad I am that I decided to enter the threads.

I was thinking about my Lit graveyard/cemetery. The people I used to talk to…friends, lovers. Some I miss, some I only have vague memories of, others that I still have mixed feelings about.

I don't know why Guns n Roses popped into my head as I read this.

🎶 I used to love 'er, but I had tequila

Don't tell me those aren't the lyrics. I will fight you!

🫣🙃

Isn't that just how life is though? We enter and leave people's lives and sometimes don't realize the impact of our presence or absence.
Agreed. I still think about a few of my lit friends. It would be amazing to see how they’re doing but obviously the impact of my presence/absence was negligible 🤣

Thanks @barefootgirl69 - now I will always sing it your way.

But then we need to come up with the other line which otherwise says

I had to put her 6 feet under …. What do we do about that - a conundrum

Theo Huxtable, Ozzy Osbourne, and now Hulk Hogan.
It feels like my childhood is dying! Growing old sucks lol.
He was fairly young - only 71….the steroids will do you in. He looked great for his age but this is how it is.
