It’s not about want! It’s about exclusivity! I once got up at 5 am to drive 40 minutes away during the pandemic to get a Target exclusive because some dodgey website said they had it in stock! Do I even look at that exclusive anymore? No. But did I feel a deep sense of consumerist satisfaction sitting in the parking lot 10 minutes after they opened with it on my passenger seat? Also…no.

Dammit.

Yarn and knitting are at least useful!
A few years back I decided I needed an “apocalypse skill” because I know a lot of things, exactly none of which are useful in a non industrialized society. So I took a seminar on cobbling. Super useful. Never gonna be a cobbler. I’ll just die amongst my G.I. Joe toys when the apocalypse comes.
