Ooh okay…so then maybe also little pots of lip gloss/balm, inexpensive jewelry/accessories (like Claire’s or Hot Topic), little things from the Sanrio store, pocket-sized scented hand sanitizers from Bath & Body Works, makeup sponges if the older one wears makeup, polyhedral dice set if you happen to be raising little dice goblins, mini bath bombs if they can fit in an Easter egg, rolls of film or SD cards if they are into non-smartphone photography, cheapo ear pods if they tend to lose them, those super compressed towels in case they get caught in water fights as the weather warms up…

Thanks. It’s just one of those widespread assumptions I wish people in general would stop making about strangers. Lots of people don’t have kids; some by choice, some not. It’s exhausting having to explain (not that we owe anyone an explanation as to why we don’t have kids), but I’m doing so in the hopes that you and other well-meaning people reading will STOP doing this.

Happy to help with holiday suggestions for the kiddos though. I’d like to think I was a good auntie when my nibblings and second cousins were younger. I’m still a big kid myself in some ways, and certainly had fun with them
