I genuinely get this. There will be a relief for me when my mum is gone that I never ever have to deal with my siblings again. I've been through therapy to figure all of this out and I despise when people try to argue the blood thicker than water shit. My life is beautiful without them poisoning it.

It would hurt my parents to think of us not keeping in touch but they're the ones who encouraged her toxicity. Or at least let her get away with it. She's upset that she CHOSE to spend 4 hours with Dad and his friends instead of letting them pick him up like I had arranged. Like it was enjoyable for me to spend the day dealing with people on FB Marketplace? I'm moving and need to get rid of crap. Her response was "We all have stuff going on." Yes you not getting to decorate for Christmas is absolutely on the same level as me moving the day after Christmas. Absolutely just as stressful and important.

My mum is absolutely complicit in what's happened over the years, but yes, I pretend to be ok with it because I couldn't quite bear losing that last thread of family. I am waiting it out until I don't have to pretend anymore.

My poor Dad lives with her. He won't leave the house or I would move him in with me. I won't constantly act like he's a burden like she does.

New Admin may touch all of us who work for or within the Govt.
Even though shutdowns have happened around me many times, the longest I have ever had to stand down is 1 week.

I typically work right through shutdowns.
But I am a Govt Contractor and not directly employed by them.
