I just used a trick I learned years ago, I thought people might appreciate it for holiday parties. If you get whole heads of broccoli,and you just cut off the florets for veggie trays or other cooking, peel the woody outer skin of the trunk part with a vegetable peeler and cut it into broccoli sticks for dip. Crispy and way better than baby carrots, in my opinion.
